TLScontact in the UK: appointments, documents and tracking

How TLScontact works for visa applicants in the UK: account, appointment, biometrics, fees and tracking, and what to prepare.

TLScontact is a visa application service used by some embassies, for example France for many applicants in the UK. Like VFS, it collects your file and biometrics. The embassy makes the decision.

How it works

  • Create an account on the official TLScontact website, choose the UK and the country you apply for, and fill in the application details.
  • Pick an appointment at the visa application centre. Some centres release new slots on set days, so check the site often.
  • Pay the visa fee and the service fee as instructed, and print the confirmation with your barcode or reference.
  • Attend with your documents in the order of the checklist. Your fingerprints and photo are taken if required.
  • Track your passport with the reference number and return method you chose.

Prepare

  • Print the official checklist for your visa type and tick each item.
  • Bring originals and the number of copies requested, and keep a full copy for yourself.
  • Use a flight reservation that is valid on your appointment date, and book the real ticket after approval.
Check the official checklist

This guide is general information, not legal advice, and it does not guarantee a visa. Rules differ by country, visa type and consulate, and they change. Follow the checklist of the embassy or visa centre you apply to.
